Partners
Every business needs partnerships with others to succeed and mine is no different.
Firstly, I have some cracking clients, all really good businesses run by dynamic and resourceful individuals. I have put links to these in my Happy Clients section and can recommend all of them highly if you are looking for a supplier in these fields.
Below, and in no particular order, are professionals who have been key to my business, or who have done a wonderful job for my clients. I would like to thank them for their help and expertise:
Andrew Stinchcomb - Integrity Financial
Andrew is a goal based financial planner, which means that he takes the time to understand your life goals, so he can help you plan to ensure you have the financial resources to achieve these goals. Clearly my business is a key contributor to the picture and so, by aligning my business goals to the personal ones, I have a great road map to work to.
Trevor Lever - Trevor Lever Consulting (TLC)
There is not much about the sales process that Trevor hasn't mastered. His expertise has helped me to refine my 'sales' technique and to match prospective customers needs to the service I can offer. As well as 121 or team training, he also offers some fantastic day courses to business owners, of all levels of sales experience, to help them sell more effectively.
Tony McKenna - McKenna Smith Wessex
Tony is a business coach of high integrity and insight. His methodology is not to tell you how to run your business, but to subtly lead you through the process of discovering it for yourself. When I started my business, and it sunk in that I was now responsible for everything, Tony helped me build a model which worked for me. Tony now runs an excellent Business Owners Programme, with his wife Sandra, to help business owners put the joy back into business.
Jeff Bevan - Website Designer
Jeff has designed and maintains my website. He has a great eye for creating professional websites, which capture the essence of the owner and what they stand for. I feel my website perfectly conveys the business image I wish to portray whilst giving prospective clients a feel of who I am as an individual. Jeff has also helped me to re-design my blog site www.brightbusinessthoughts.co.uk.
Steve Bloomer - SpringboardIT
Steve has helped my business in a less direct way. He has provided excellent service to key clients of mine by helping them to connect their business information systems. He has saved considerable amounts of time, and reduced frustration levels, by taking away the need for entering information in multiple systems and by automating the production of key reports.
Judith Honeybun - Honeybun Business Services
I have known, and worked with, Judith for a number of years and I can highly recommend her as an excellent bookkeeper with bag loads of experience. As well as organising client's financial records, she runs their payroll, prepares invoices, chases debts and ensures suppliers are paid - in short she is the perfect person to get a client's day-to-day financial systems running smoothly.
Clive-Hall Tomkin - Maxwells Chartered Accountants
Clive does all the accounting bits I don't touch - tax, compliance, audit and company secretarial. He does a great job for clients, because he is interested in them and their business. I know I can rely on Clive to give my clients sound advice to keep them on the straight and narrow (as you would expect from any Chartered accountant), in a way which is fun and interesting (which you expect but don't always get from other Chartered accountants).
Mark Chesham - Moore Stevens
Mark is the VAT expert we all want on our side. His knowledge of UK VAT is second to none, but he is able to explain this complicated 'simple' tax in a way which is understandable and not too boring (sorry Mark, but most of us think the ins and outs of VAT is pretty dull!). He also offers half day VAT review days for anyone who wants an expert to give their VAT systems the once over.
Andrew Smallwood - Andrew C Smallwood & Co Ltd
Andrew is my tax and compliance accountant. I am a great believer in delegating anything I am not proficiant at and as I don't do tax and compliance myself, am perfectly happy to delegate this work to Andrew. He is the smiliest accountant I know (which is important when you are talking about tax!!), and is very proficient. If you are a sole trader/partnership or small company I would recommend Andrew to you as an accountant who can sort out all your accountancy needs.
Paul Dickinson - Dickinson Business Finance
Most businesses have cash flow issues at one time or another. For many businesses' their first port of call is the bank but banks are not always the most cost effective, or even the easiest solution. Paul has access to many different finance providers, and will match the cash flow need to the best solution. But the key thing is that he takes the stress away and makes the process easy.
Chris Tabb and John Beynon - Lightside Financial
Rarely, but unfortunately less so in these recessionary times, a business finds itself in a position where the owner fears that they may need to shut up shop. There is no one better to go to, to discuss options and to help make any outcome as stress-free as possible, than Chris and John. It may be that the situation is not so dark as the owner thinks and they have more options than they thought, or it may be that they have reached the end of the road, in which case Chris and John will hold their hand throughout the process.
NRG business networks
Whilst not an individual, I do feel that NRG is a key business partner. I am the leader of the North Somerset group and as such, meet fantastic business people every month who I get to know well enough for me to be confident that, should a client need the services they offer, I can happily refer them. Being a member of such a strong networking organisation is a great support to my business.
